Le terme “Naam” vient du moré qui est une langue appartenant à l´un des groupes ethnique les plus importants du pays: le mossi. Il signifie littéralement union ou groupement. Les associations paysannes regroupées sous ce vocable entendent s’inspirer de structures traditionnelles burkinabe pour ce qui concerne leur organisation, la gestion et la commercialisation de leurs produits agricoles.
